Pendul Support
Pendul is free, and provided as-is. We built it for ourselves and share it as a small gift — there is no paid tier, no account, and no individual support. The app is deliberately simple, and the answers below cover almost everything.
Frequently asked
How do I set or change my home and work?
On first launch, Pendul asks you to add your two places — it takes about thirty seconds. You can change them any time from the settings (the gear icon on the main screen).
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login. Pendul works the moment you set your places.
Why does Pendul ask for my location?
Location is optional. If you allow it, Pendul uses your current position as the starting point and to work out which way you're heading (to work in the morning, home later). If you don't, it simply uses your other saved place as the starting point.
Why are the drive times different from another maps app?
Pendul asks Apple Maps for a fresh, traffic-aware estimate for each departure time across the next three hours. Small differences from a one-off lookup in another app are normal — traffic changes minute to minute, and Pendul shows a whole range of departures rather than a single "leave now" number.
How often does it update?
Pendul refreshes when you open it and reuses a recent result for a few minutes so it isn't constantly recalculating. Pull to refresh, or reopen the app, to force a new check.
Something looks wrong or the app isn't loading
Check that you have a network connection (Apple Maps needs one to return traffic data) and that location permission is set the way you expect in Settings → Pendul. Reopening the app clears most transient issues.
How is my data handled?
Everything is computed on your phone. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no umage servers — your home and work places stay on your device. See the Pendul privacy policy for the full details.
The fine print
Pendul is provided free of charge, as-is, and without warranty or support of any kind. We may update it from time to time, but we don't commit to fixes, features, or individual help. For privacy or data questions, the contact details are in the privacy policy.
